Project Name: Mitral Regurgitation (MR) Repair Group Number: 24 Group Members: Kaitlin Ayer, Brooke Cheatham, J. Tucker Krone Current status of project: In the process of researching how to attach artificial chordae to papillary muscles and how to synch multiple chordae together after they have been secured to the papillary muscle and leaflet. Work completed in the last week: Met with Dr. Crabtree and decided to design a catheter based system to help treat mitral regurgitation. Work planned for next week: Research for and write the scope assignment. Meet with Dr. Crabtree to discuss our findings. 1. Types of mitral regurgitation 2. Synching 3. Type of material needed to build chordae 4. Papillary muscle attachment 5. General knowledge Anything needed from mentor/client or TA or instructor to continue work: Another meeting.
